RING SIDEROBLASTS IN MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROMES: MORPHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSTIC IMPLICATIONS

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are heterogeneous myeloid neoplasms in which accurate identification of ring sideroblasts is essential for classification and prognosis. Perls’ staining remains the standard method for demonstrating mitochondrial iron deposition in erythroid precursors. This study evaluates the diagnostic role of this technique in a single- center MDS cohort.
