Background: Psychocutaneous disorders represent a complex interaction between dermatology and psychiatry and often pose significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Increasing evidence from psychoneuroimmunology has strengthened the understanding of the bidirectional relationship between the skin and the psyche. Dermatologists are frequently the first physicians consulted by these patients, making early recognition and multidisciplinary management essential.
